Judging Criteria

Richfield's Hometown 4th of July Celebration will be accepting applications for the Candidate Program in January.   If you will be ages 17-22 by July 1st of that year AND you are living, working or attending a school in Richfield, you are eligible to become a Ambassador! (Please note that you are also eligible to apply if you graduated from a Richfield School, but are now living elsewhere.)

Judging is based on all of the following and not necessarily in the following order:

1. ACCEPTANCE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will be asked to verify willingness to accept the role and responsibilities of a Richfield Ambassador.

2. APPEARANCE: The candidate will follow the attire guidelines as stated in the candidate guidelines.

3. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: The candidate should be articulate and possess interpersonal and public speaking skills.

4. PERSONALITY: The personality of the candidate should reflect sound quality of mind and character.  The candidate should radiate health, vitality and wholesomeness; they should project friendliness with proper restraint.  A candidate must be able to handle themselves with confidence and decorum in any situation.

5. POISE: Poise is determined by the manner in which the candidates conduct themselves with others the same age and the general public.  Candidates should be pleasant, friendly and unperturbed by unusual circumstances.

*Race, religion, economic status and sex have no bearing on the selection of the Richfield Ambassadors.
